Switching units ELFIStor 3SK 63 - 125A
Power part contains contactless power switches. Every switch consists of two antiparallel
connected
thyristors. Switches switching are realized at minimum thyristor voltage. Thus current surge is limited to minimum, which appears at switched load, mainly wheather it has a capacitiv character. Recommended connection of power part for reative power compensation is shown at the end of pdf

In applications, where it is not used so-called principle of compensation (when not compensating impedance consists of a serial LC circuit, but only by the capacity) it is necessary to include reccomended choke with small inductance, which requires reduces current surges during switching.
The unit can be set so that the switch will turn on their own, either immediately after detecting the zero voltage thyristors, or after definite phase delay. The size of delay is optional in several intervals from 0 to 90 ° electrical, and depending on any component inductive load impedance. Power and control of the units are electrically isolated. Three power switches are completely galvanically isolated themselves. Each switch can be operated separately from other independent input. The switch will be enabled by connection of the corresponding control input signal to the common terminal (zero). It is assumed the control using free so called potentialless contact, or using the logic open collector output type NPN transistor.
